Dear Sonmore Family,

I was so blessed to stay in the Sonmore home in 1971. Everyone was so kind to me and I was touched when Brother Sonmore asked me to agree with him in prayer about a certain need.

God used Him to bless many and our loss is truly Heaven's gain.

May the whole Sonmore family know the legacy Clayton left was not in vain.

Sincerely,

Gary Palermo

Tribute in Memory of our dear brother Clayton Sonmore

Brother Clayt will live on in our hearts as one who had his heart and mind fixed on accomplishing all that the Lord had called him to do, and one whose deep walk of faith, prayer, and hope inspired us all. Clayt yielded his life and talents to the Lord’s purposes for him, and with the guidance and empowering of the Holy Spirit, he left his imprint through words of wisdom and deep insights for us and future generations. His writings exemplified his deep desire for ministering the truth and to expose where it was lacking. His amazing love and commitment to his own family and his extended spiritual family was a blessing that has been exemplary and an eternal blessing to all who were privileged to receive from and fellowship with him.

It was through fellowship and teaching at the Sonmore home from January thru May of 1967 when John was nurtured as a “babe” in things of the Spirit, having just received “the baptism” in December of ‘66. Those were times of precious fellowship that seeded into a lifetime of friendship with Clayt and the Sonmore family. Throughout our subsequent years and life events, we received, as a couple, many blessed opportunities to reconnect with Brother Clayt. He continually served as a spiritual coach and encourager as we sojourned through the course of life’s events.

His strong faith and confidence in God imparted to us a like boldness and confidence in the Lord. Clay was always there, and he prayed with us through the trials and challenges we went through. Clayt’s vision and revelation became more and more a part of our hearts. Later on in his authoring, Clayt entrusted John with proofing, editing, and a little “ghost-writing” of his pre- publication manuscripts. It was a great blessing to become a part of his work. Clayt, with all his wisdom and depth, was so affirming of the gifts of others.

We praise the Lord that Brother Clayt is now able to fully enjoy the presence of our amazing Lord, and along with being reunited with his beloved Jeanne, he has joined that great band of saints in Glory who have finished the race and have heard the Master say “well done my good and faithful servant!”

Thank you

Clayt -
You have been a great mentor to many, including my parents and me. Your vision was truly ordained and inspired from above. Your presence on this earth will be greatly missed but we look forward to rejoining you again in Heaven someday. God bless your family and all those you touched during your walk amongst us.
 ----
Sorry to hear of your loss but know Clayt is in glory. He was good to my mom after my dad died years ago. His heart was always towards the Lord. He had been a spiritual leader in my life.

Clayt's passing

Dear family,

Our sympathy in Clayt's passing. We planned to return with him to Estes Park in May, where he held precious memories.

He was inspiring, a walking epistle and expressed refreshing humor. Once, in responding to clicking on the phone, he said, "Don't worry, John. If it's FBI, they haven't a CLUE what we're talking about. They'll leave US alone!"

We are unable to attend Clayt's memorial, but send prayers and love.
We rejoice his reunion with the Lord, your Mom and loved ones. What a celebration

Dear Sonmore family,

My love to you all.
Our loss, heaven's gain.  I can imagine pretty Jeanne in her pink and pearls greeting him. What a vision. It's very sad for us to lose this generation of mighty ones.

You know it's with great affection, love and respect I called him the mad scientist of sonship/end time revelation.  Pretty sure I called him that to his face. :)  I could, because I nearly lost my life as his sidekick one day when he was attempting to URGENTLY print and mail out a newsletter back in Minnesota. A day/ride I'll never forget! And you know...I think maybe that's pretty much what it takes to do what he did all those years. I'm honored to have known him and held his affection.. oh, and be a little part of his family.
When we all see Jesus, what a day of rejoicing that will be.

With so much love and hugs,

Tribute to a warrior.

Dear brother Gary..It was quite shocking to learn of the passing of your dearly beloved father a short while ago. Since then, our thoughts and prayers have been with you and the rest of your family at this time.

We do however bless our Lord and father for the privilege and blessing of making us partakers of the anointed ministry of this man of God. The impact of his ministry to the brethren in Nigeria beginning from the early 1990s has been profound and entral to firmly establish the kingdom word of coming out of Babylon...his books especially show the house to the house and the one on William Branham were a fresh breathe to nourish and satiate many hungry and thirsty souls.

We do pray that the Lord will comfort your hearts at this time...say to the righteous that it is well.

1 Corinthians 2:9-10 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

Farewell to Brother Clayton Sonmore

My name is Daniel Ekong. I met Brother Clayton Sonmore once in a meeting in Port Harcourt, Nigeria in 1990, if memory serves me well. I was transitioning into my twenties then and there was at that time a spiritual excitement among the young christian people. The dominating phrase of the time that appeared to convey a sense of direction for the youths was "Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues" Rev 18:4. This phrase appeared to characterize that particular time frame and could be likened to a gas that filled the air which many Christ filled believer did inhale. It was at this moment in time that Brother Clayton Sonmore showed up with a word about showing the house to house. The message he brought was nothing ordinary to us. it was very captivating and the books were even more riveting. They impacted my life instantly and added context to everything I was inhaling in the air then. Many of us committed to a life of separation and consecration to the Lord, as a direct result of the quickening and inspiration that came from Brother Clayton.

In recent times the Lord has led me into studying the lives of many Christ filled stalwarts of the 20th century. I have been going over biographies and inspiring stories of men who have sacrificed for Jesus as a testimony to us who live at this time. I found the outpouring and anointing in the 20th century greater than at any time in the history of the Church. This is just my observation. Simply put, the stories our incredible. Hedged in the middle of this tremendous times is the story of Clayton Sonmore as told by Demos Shakarian, in the book, "The Happiest People on Earth".

As I review the lives of these great men of faith, I see Brother Clayt as one of the last stalwart of faith from that great era of God's dealings towards the Church and the people of the earth. May his ascension to join the great cloud and company of witnesses, stir in our hearts a deep commitment, affection and sacrifice of ourselves to our Lord and Master, Jesus Christ.

May the Lord comfort your hearts and those of the brethren.

Gary; Dorian my son informed our families of your fathers passing through the veil. You may or may not remember us. We helped your Father behind the scenes with mailings and some other activities. The Thompson families send our condolences to you and to all of the Sonmore family.

Tuesday I took one of Clayt's books to a friend to read and after heard the news of his passing. We missed greatly not seeing Clayt over the past few years and missed not seeing you folks from time to time. I hope to see some of you in Minneapolis on the 27th. God gave us his best when we were introduced to Clayt and had the privilege to work with him during the last years of his ministry. I thank Lord Jesus for the revelations from Clayt and most of all the warm love shown us from him and your family.

Diana and I are saddened by the loss of a dear Elder in the Body of Christ. We offer our deepest condolences to the entire Sonmore family, who are so dear to us. Clayton, being many years my senior, was a great example of what a man of God should be. Never did I hear a cross word nor was he ever at a loss for some manner of encouragement. His dedication and devotion to his calling was astounding, I have never witnessed a man so faithfully diligent in his ministry. To sum up Clayt in one sentence, he was a faithful dedicated bondservant of our Lord, Jesus Christ and God is saying, "WELL DONE my good and faithful servant!" What a godly example and a powerful legacy he leaves.

A few words regarding Brother Clayt:

We shared a fellowship engendered by the Holy Spirit.  Our introduction was completely supernatural, for the Lord told me to go to Honolulu and there I would meet a man who would affect my life and I would affect his. Indeed, he changed our lives and the trusted friendship over the years caused an ever deepening trust and friendship. Our interaction continued to be in the Spirit as my wife and I edited some of his work and I received the highest compliment possible when he said, “If I only was allowed two Books—the first would be my Bible and my second would be, The Sons of Zadok. My family and I will miss his prophetic words, his knowledge of the spiritual movements with which he was associated and the bold witness he maintained to the end.  Adieu for now, my brother, for it is farewell just for a while.

Thank you, Gary, for letting us know of Clayt's passing. We loved Clayt more than even he knew and appreciate
the Holy Spirit bringing us together.  May the crowd that will gather  celebrate the praise he is experiencing
for his life affected millions. Our love to you and the family.

Clayt's Passing

Dear Brother Gary,
Thank you for informing us of Clayt's passing. Out thoughts and prayers are with you as we ask God to comfort you. We are also with you in the knowledge that he is now in the cloud of witnesses, free of any tribulation or trouble. Clayt's writing and his books were very instrumental to me in the days that I was coming into the message that we now believe; I remember that I eagerly devoured everything that he wrote, still have and will ever cherish those books. Surely he shall receive a great reward.
We send our love and blessings to you and Emily,

In Memory of Clayton Sonmore

Dear Brother Gary,

We received with mixed feelings early hours of this morning the passage of our great friend, dear brother, fellow soldier, and father in the Lord Brother Clayton Sonmore.

Mixed feelings because we rejoice that a great soldier of the cross and a great General finished well. He fought a good fight, ran a great race, and kept the faith.

Brother Clayt stood out in this generation as a gallant and fiery prophet. He declared the truth of God's word no matter who's ox is gored.

We will miss brother Sonmore. We are deeply pained by his absence in the body at a time when the true word of the Lord and the true prophets of the Lord are scarce in the land. We are consoled however by the great legacies he left behind. The great and unadulterated truths he penciled in the books he wrote will continue to ring forth in the church for many generations to come. What a rare prophet he was.

We, in Nigeria will never forget his visit to Nigeria many years back. His book "Show the House to the House" among many others sparked such huge fires in our hearts that snowballed across the country and that fire is still burning till date.

Brother Clayt lived with, and carried a heavy burden for the restoration of the church. He was an embodiment of humility, and many times he ministered with great agony and tears as he brought forth the word of the Lord for the church.

We salute this great prophet of our time. May God in his infinite mercies raise for us many more Clayton Sonmores in this midnight hour to sound the alarm and to blow the trumpet.

We commiserate with the entire Sonmore family particularly our brother Gary. We thank God that God gave us Clayton Sonmore through your family.

We will continue to draw strength from the legacies of this great prophet until we see him again on the resurrection Morning.

My immediate sense of loss is gently filled by a nudge from The Holy Spirit - he has left us the baton to carry on.
What a wonderful man of God - not afraid or ashamed to permit God his weaknesses and vulnerabilities to be openly displayed as he pressed with all his might into God. For me, he was one who stood in that gap for many long years as he waited for The Lord to fill that gap with others.
May we be strong to stand in the place God calls us to be that we might possess those things yet to come, that our dear friend saw by faith.
And now sees face to face.
Much love
