"...Not by might, nor by power, but by my SPIRIT  saith the LORD of hosts"

LETTER OF CONDOLENCE

The End Time Church in Nigeria

Dearly beloved Gary and Entire Sonmore family,
The passing of your father and our brother/father in the Lord Clayt Sonmore, came to us with a mix of Sadness and joy.
Sadness, because, we miss him in the flesh.  No matter the age, a loved one will be missed when he departs, by the family and those whose lives were touched in the course of his life, such as us.  We will greatly miss him.
Joy, because we know he has joined the heavenly hosts and is now with his Lord whom he loved, served and lived for, while in the body.   The bible says: "The memory of the just is blessed..."  Proverbs 10:7a.  We remember him coming to Nigeria several years ago and edifying the church here.  He freely shared the book "Beyond Pentecost" which he authored, to us.  This great book served to establish many across Nigeria in the Kingdom Message.
We have continued to receive edification not only from this book, but also from others which brother Clayt authored as well.  Other volumes include: None dare call it deception; The Spirit of the great Cathedral; Who was William Branham?; Beware of strange fire; etc.
We thank God for this great ministry and for the commitment he planted in our dear brother who, even at his 90th birthday, still looked forward to another missionary visit to Nigeria.
On behalf of the End-time Church in Nigeria, we offer our condolences and will have you know that we identify with you in this great moment of living without the physical presence of your Father Clayt Sonmore.

TRIBUTE TO Pa CLAYTON SONMORE

Dear Sonmore Family,

Nonso and I count it a great privilege to have personally known and met this rare servant of God. Pa Sonmore was a great gift to the Body of Christ whose exceptional writing and ministry impacted, and still impacts many around the world. The church in Nigeria has been greatly blessed by Pa Sonmore. His classic work ''Beyond Pentecost', had set many on the path towards the high calling of God in Christ Jesus and remains the best primer on the rudiments of the kingdom message. Pa was was a bridge between the past and present whose ministry passed on the torchlight and baton of noteworthy landmarks of earlier move of the Spirit that enabled a clearer gaze into what lies ahead. While Pa goes to his well deserved rest, the family he leaves behind should be deeply consoled in the fact that his selfless service and transparent love for the Body of Christ are indelibly ingrained in the hearts of those who know him.

Sincerely,

Francis & Nonso Bisong,
Calabar, Nigeria.

Mr Sonmore was the holiest man on earth I ever saw. I have memories / images of him as he led a God first lifestyle. I admired him. Understood him because I laid my weapons of self-destruction down when I was with him. Judgement , scorn and was able to watch a man of God be a man of God. He was good to me. I'm honored to have known him.

Memories of our beloved brother Clayt Sonmore : Show the House to the House and Beyond Pentecost

Our Dear Brother Gary, Sister Emily and the entire Sonmore family while we pray the Lord to grant you the grace to bear the temporary pain of missing a loved ones physical companionship,  we indeed join you with gratitude to our almighty God to celebrate the life and times of our beloved brother and father in the Lord - Clayt Sonmore.
My memories of him captured when he visited Nigeria with brother Cecil duCille and preached on Show the House to the House as well as Beyond Pentecost  remain eternal ingrained in my Christian walk. I can still see copies of the books being shared during the meeting in minds eye.
We thank God for this great gift to the Church who has completed his course on earth and joined the cloud of witnesses to receive his crown of glory
We will miss his physical presence but remain eternally comforted by the legacy he left for us all and trust the Lord to grant you and all of us great grace  to carry the baton  and continue the race.
May the peace of God that passes all understanding abound to you all.
Remain strong in the Lord and in the power of his love.
We love you all

Please accept my condolences. I did not have privilege of meeting your Father but I read his book "Beyond Pentecost". In fact it was one of the first detailed books I read when I came to the word on sonship. I learnt a lot from it.

May the Almighty God fill up whatever gap his departure may leave in your life or that of your family. May the Almighty God continue to guide and guard you in all your ways.

Please extend my love to the family.

God bless you,

Mike and I were also saddened to hear of your fathers passing. They were both such a gift to the Body of Christ. I so wish we could make the funeral but probably not likely. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers as well.

My mom always said if she passes she wants Emily to sing. We will probably have a memorial in about 3 weeks. I will let you know when we have a date.  Feel free to send a email out or share with others.

Blessings and Love,

Dear Sonmore Family,

I was so blessed to stay in the Sonmore home in 1971. Everyone was so kind to me and I was touched when Brother Sonmore asked me to agree with him in prayer about a certain need.

God used Him to bless many and our loss is truly Heaven's gain.

May the whole Sonmore family know the legacy Clayton left was not in vain.

Sincerely,

Gary Palermo

Tribute in Memory of our dear brother Clayton Sonmore

Brother Clayt will live on in our hearts as one who had his heart and mind fixed on accomplishing all that the Lord had called him to do, and one whose deep walk of faith, prayer, and hope inspired us all. Clayt yielded his life and talents to the Lord’s purposes for him, and with the guidance and empowering of the Holy Spirit, he left his imprint through words of wisdom and deep insights for us and future generations. His writings exemplified his deep desire for ministering the truth and to expose where it was lacking. His amazing love and commitment to his own family and his extended spiritual family was a blessing that has been exemplary and an eternal blessing to all who were privileged to receive from and fellowship with him.

It was through fellowship and teaching at the Sonmore home from January thru May of 1967 when John was nurtured as a “babe” in things of the Spirit, having just received “the baptism” in December of ‘66. Those were times of precious fellowship that seeded into a lifetime of friendship with Clayt and the Sonmore family. Throughout our subsequent years and life events, we received, as a couple, many blessed opportunities to reconnect with Brother Clayt. He continually served as a spiritual coach and encourager as we sojourned through the course of life’s events.

His strong faith and confidence in God imparted to us a like boldness and confidence in the Lord. Clay was always there, and he prayed with us through the trials and challenges we went through. Clayt’s vision and revelation became more and more a part of our hearts. Later on in his authoring, Clayt entrusted John with proofing, editing, and a little “ghost-writing” of his pre- publication manuscripts. It was a great blessing to become a part of his work. Clayt, with all his wisdom and depth, was so affirming of the gifts of others.

We praise the Lord that Brother Clayt is now able to fully enjoy the presence of our amazing Lord, and along with being reunited with his beloved Jeanne, he has joined that great band of saints in Glory who have finished the race and have heard the Master say “well done my good and faithful servant!”
